Free IT Athens will be hosting a sales night on Tuesday November 22nd. Any individual is welcome to come in and purchase a computer between 6:30-7:30pm. No sign up is necessary! In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday Free IT Athens will not be open for a refurbishing night Thursday November 24th, 2011 nor be open for donations Friday November 25th, 2011.  All other regularly scheduled office hours will remain the same.  Have a great holiday!

Free IT Athens needs volunteers to help us receive a large donation from St. Mary's. We will be removing hard drives from the computers at St Mary's and then transporting the computers to Free IT Athens. Free IT Athens will be holding a New Volunteer Orientation this Tuesday November 15th at 6:30pm. This orientation lasts about a half an hour and is a requirement for all new volunteers. Free IT Athens will hosting a refurbishing night Thursday November 10th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  All Free IT Athens volunteers that are interested in getting hands on experience with computers should come out!

Free IT Athens will be attending the Athens Area Humane Society sponsored Charity Chili Cook Off at Terrapin Brewery (265 Newton Bridge Road Athens, GA 30607) this Saturday from 5:30-7:30pm.  Attendees will sample chili and vote on their favorite.  The charity with the winning recipe will receive $300.  This is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about Athens nonprofit organizations, and sample some great chili!  For more information on the event click here.  Be sure to

Free IT Athens will be offering a one hour training for volunteers working toward a computer or anyone in the community interested in learning on Monday November 7th @7pm at our 2092 Prince Avenue location.

Free IT Athens will be participating in a game day recycling clean up event Saturday November 5th at 5:30pm. Volunteers interested in carpooling should meet at Free IT Athens (directions) by 5PM. If you don't want to carpool, you should be at Gate 10 of Sanford Stadium (gate closest to the Tate Center) at 5:15. We will be picking up recycable materials left in the stadium after the game. Volunteers can receive double hours for their efforts (i.e. if we pick up materials for 1 hour, we will credit you 2 volunteer hours).
