Tech Support

Donation-based tech support is available on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. , Fridays from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.,  and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Free I.T. Athens.

We do not offer tech support on Wednesdays. Find out why in our blog post, “Changes in Free I.T. Athens Tech Support.”

We offer donation-based tech support and consulting services for non-profit organizations and community groups. We are particularly interested in helping organizations set up public computer labs and wireless networks. Contact us at with your needs to see how we can help.

We offer donation-based technical support to individuals.  This includes the installation and troubleshooting of hardware and free software.

We generally will not work on problems involving non-free software (e.g. Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac OS). However, for a minimum $10.00 donation we will run a basic diagnosis on your ailing Windows or Mac machine and advise possible solutions.

We don’t offer virus/malware/ransomware/spyware removal services, but we can give you advice on how to solve and prevent these problems.

We do not offer home-visit or drop-off tech support. You must bring your computer to the Free I.T. Athens work space and stay with the device for the duration of the support session. It’s a great opportunity to learn!

Donations are not required (except where mentioned above), but are very much appreciated when given.
